My name is Kaylyn Elizabeth Gyden. I was born in Fort Sille, Oklahoma. I grew up in Gary, IN. I am 18 years old. I am an alumni of Bishop Noll Institute located in Hammond, Indiana. There I served as the Multi-Cultural club president, Student Body vice president, Red Ribbon Club president, and captain on the girls Varsity Tennis team. I am currently a freshman at Ball State University. I am double majoring in Pre-Medicine and Spanish, while minoring in Sign Language.  My career goal is to become an OB/GYN. I am the only girl in my family for my generation. I have no brothers and sisters. Prior to my moving to Muncie, In, I lived with my mother. I have three older male cousins who I hold dear to my heart.In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, and playing tennis. I serve as a board member for Highly Flavored, Inc., which is a non-profit organization that is a community-based organization committed to assisting in the leadership development of children and teenagers. I am a peer advisor and spearhead of the Social Justice program, which was created by Highly Flavored, Inc. I am a certified instructor of Arise classes. I run a great number of inspirational and helpful workshops. I am a member of the Big Sister Little Sister Program. I regularly volunteer at the Sojourner Truth House and Salvation Army both located in Gary, IN. I am the editor- in- chief of a newspaper which is sent to incarcerated men and women across the world. I plan a yearly Christmas party to raise toys to give out to less fortunate children on Christmas day. My drive is to be the change that is needed in this world.
