Write about a paper (any paper) you have written in the past. What was your process when writing the paper? (Did you have music playing in the background, did you write the paper the night before, did you outline or just start writing, etc.) What “type” of paper was it? (Creative piece, research paper, lab report, book report, etc.?) How did you feel when it was assigned? How about when it finished? Describe this paper and your writing process as thoroughly as possible.
" Do not wait until the last minute to write your paper", my Freshman Seminar teacher, Mr. Fech said. I was in no hurry to write that paper. Matter-of-fact, I didn't even select my topic and the paper was due the next day. Me being the wonderful procrastinator that I am, decided to wait until that morning to write my paper. I was given a list of quotes, and my assignment was to pick a quote and explain what it means from my perspective. I decided on the qoute, "Fear melts when you take action towards a goal you really want."by an unknown author. At first, the quote didn't mean anything to me. However, it was when I finally sat down and thought about my life and how it went along with that quote. I woke up around four o'clock in the morning to write this paper. I started off listening to the television, but ended up finishing my paper to my ipod. The process for writing my paper wasn't difficult at all. I made a list of everything that I was afraid of and anything that kept me from accomplishing my goals. Towards the end of my paper, I began to get a little emotional. I had realized that I could not let my fears get the best of me. I had came to the conclusion that I had to be in control of myself, fears, and destiny. Since that day, I have not feared anything or let anything get in my way of getting to where I am destined to be. I was one of the first people to turn my paper in that day. My teacher had commented on how he couldn't wait to read it because I am one of his best writers. It took maybe a period of two weeks to get our papers back. I wasn't really nervous to see my grade, because I have always been good at writing and my best work is at the last minute. However, I did not get my paper back with the rest of my classmates. He told me to speak with him after class. After class, I went to my teacher to talk about my paper and that's when he actually teared up. He gave me an 100% on that term paper. I remember him telling me that my paper was the best paper I had ever written. He framed it and sat it in his office since he was the principal of my school. That paper gave me the motivation I had needed to get back on my feet from everything I had been through that school year.
